From Amsterdam to Los Angeles

I first stumbled across Yesul Studio on Instagram. Their work stopped me mid-scroll, there was one outdoor shoot in particular that completely captivated me. The light, the softness, the way they captured emotion in such a simple moment, it wasn’t just photography, it was storytelling. I knew right then that I wanted to work with them.

A few months later, I found myself packing up in Amsterdam and flying to Los Angeles to join the very studio that had inspired me from afar. Moving across the world for a creative job is a wild thing to do, but from the moment I arrived, the Yesul team welcomed me with open arms. They are genuinely some of the kindest people I’ve ever met, calm, warm, and endlessly generous with their time and knowledge.

What strikes me every day is how relaxed yet intentional their working environment is. There’s no rush, no ego, just a quiet commitment to making beautiful, meaningful work. They are incredible mentors, guiding with so much patience and clarity. Watching them in action, especially during shoots, has taught me so much. Their ability to read a moment, find the light, and shape a story through imagery is truly inspiring.

One of the shoots that stood out to me early on was outdoors. Seeing how they moved with the environment, how naturally they directed and captured emotion, it was like watching poetry unfold through a lens. Their technique is sharp, but it always serves the feeling.

Recently, I had to fly back home for two weeks due to personal reasons, and even in that moment, the team showed me nothing but care and understanding. It reminded me that creativity thrives best in spaces where people are valued, not just for what they can produce, but for who they are.

Now that I’m back, I’m fully enjoying every moment with this team. I feel so excited to continue learning, growing, and creating alongside them. Working at Yesul Studio isn’t just a job, it’s a beautiful collaboration that’s shaping me, creatively and personally, in ways I’ll carry with me for a long time.
